Listeners will get an easter egg for their time: the correct pronunciation of my real name! Discuss away.
One more thing: the economic impact report I cited in the interview can be found here (PDF).
Keeping track of all news and events revolving around the pursuit of a new ballpark for the Oakland Athletics.

ML--good solid interview and agree with your advice to Oakland to have a back-up plan in place--in the event that SJ does not materalize. Also, gotta give you credit that you don't overlay the personal benefit of having the team within walking distance of your home.
Just curious on your thougts on when the blue ribbon committee might have their analysis complete. I am sensing sooner rather than later--perhaps June--what are your thoughts?
I was going to post a link but you beat me to it. Congratulations, nice work ! You came across as knowledgeable, balanced, and reasonable, in other words, perfect for NPR !
pretty good interview ML...good job!!
After all these years, I come to find out it's "RAM isus" vs. what I thought: "RAIM isus." Nice interview R.M.; nice and neutral.
So that is how you sound :)
Great job w/ the interview....keep providing good information.
Okay, so if MLB wants San Jose to come up with an "amenable plan", then why are they telling them to keep quiet? Was MLB's request ever announced publicly or is this merely speculation?
BTW, "Mr. Obvious" thinks you did a great job with the interview. You were as neutral(and gracious) as you possibly could be considering where you live and work. And for the record, I always had the pronunciation of your name right.
I had no idea what your name was, so I missed that whole thread...
but your interview was nice and on point. congrats!
good job RM
Georob,
San Jose is being told to keep quite so:
1)They don't stick their foot in their mouth again like a certain ex-mayor (who's name rhymes with Bon Tonzalez) did.
2)A lot of sensitive negotiations are going on behind the scenes with a team who is not happy that they are going on at all, and they may be end with San Jose's rights being striped from that team (who's managing owner is named after a video game character) against that teams will. It would not be good for San Jose to appear like they are the front runner at this point.
A great balanced interview. Your neutrality in face of a very emotional subject is awesome!
Ditto to Anon 8:51...after tonight's SJ meeting ML, can you give us a "guess" of blue ribbon committee timing?
My guess...sometime between the December owners meeting and opening day 2010.
