Take the Coliseum...Yes, but it will take some time. Take the Coliseum South site. Aggressive developers might look at Hegenberger Road and see serious potential. Residents see a few local businesses and the only supermarket in the area, and that makes for potential resistance. They also see blight in the former HomeBase site that needs to be addressed. KTVU recently did a report on the Oakland Wal-Mart several months after it opened, which indicated that the big box store did not have a significant negative impact on other area businesses. Then again, there may be great negative impacts in the long term.<BR/><BR/>The area around the Coliseum is one large redevelopment zone. It's a matter of time before most of it gets redone.
