I'll have a first impressions review of the design soon, but for now I'll let this cute little souvenir speak for itself:

Sorry folks, this one's not for sale or trade.

I don't know about that, but I will say this, There will definitely be a there, there.

Earlier I said this would be one of those things where in 10 years we're scratching our heads and wondering why. If this vision comes to fruition, we'll be wondering why every team doesn't do this. I know the artist renderings are always more magical than the real places are, but in this case they'll actually be controlling the surrounding area.

Is it fake? Sure. But Santana Row is fake too, and I've come to appreciate that place. Would I rather have this in a real downtown? Sure, but that was never going to happen. This is a pretty nice compromise.

Dave, like JRBH; you don't have to go to A's games any more. When Bonds retires there will be plenty of room at ATT Park for every demographic group from corporate hacks to meth addicts to buy tickets on game day, see their friends in the stands, and sing Kumbaya during the seventh inning stretch.

And all you neo-Giants fans can revel in "being together" just like Cubs fans do. For just like the Cubs, the Giants won't be able to win squat.

Unless of course Senator Feinstein introduces a resolution requiring MLB to award the Giants the World Championship every ten years as an addendum to her bill to strip "SF" from the 49'ers if they leave the city.

So much for getting our troops out of Iraq.

Herb Caen used to call San Francisco "Baghdad by the Bay" that nickname is now more fitting for Oklnd. The nightclub "Mingles" in Jack London Square has voluntarily closed after a recent murder and numerous calls to the police about violence. Who in their right mind would build a ballpark and village in Oklnd? Nobody in their right mind.

IDLF said Oklnd made more money from the Rolling Stones concert than they did from the A's last year. Good for Oklnd, they can put the additional money to better use (Schools, crime prevention etc.).

It was only a couple of weeks ago that Chip Johnson reported that people in Oklnd were terrified of Halloween "Halloween is in trouble in Oakland neighborhoods hard hit by crime, where residents are debating among themselves whether it's wise open their doors to strangers in costumes. ...On the other side of the debate, police and apartment managers warn that -- whether handing out candy or not -- creating dark spots around a building is an invitation for trouble.
